The Departments of the Republic are bodies that the Parliament gives authority too in order to be able to carry out specific tasks that needs experts in the field rather than elected congressmen. Some examples include transportation and health. The Parliament gives them a budget every year to carry out these duties and these departments release regulations that act as federal law. Independent agencies are agencies that exist outside the federal executive departments (those headed by a Cabinet secretary) and the Executive Office of the President.
